Jon Hamm + Blues = Epic

I've really liked Jon Hamm and his awesome character Don Draper on his awesome show, Mad Men, for a few years now.

His appearance on Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifanakis was hilarious.

Now, he's reached a new echelon.

Why am I just now finding out that he's a Blues fan? This is important info, people!

Check out these two spots for Blues fans. Awesome...just flat out awesome...

"Hi, I'm Jon Hamm. I live in Hollywood now..but, I was born and raised in St. Louis. I've had this hat for 15 years"

Hey Jon...love that lid, my man. I can tell that dude's got Missouri blood running through those veins.

Enjoy the sneak peek version:

Robert Randolph & the Family Band - Ain't Nothing Wrong With That

For my money...Robert Randolph & The Family Band is the best band to see LIVE on the planet. I've never had so much fun at a concert than I've had @ theirs.

The best part: this song fully incapsulates what makes that experience great. His crowds are so diverse:

Red, Yellow, Black & White / It don't matter / We're all getting down tonight

Ain't Nothing Wrong with that, indeed.

Vibram Five Finger Shoes

...WTF?

Tim Ferriss on Vibram Shoes from Kevin Rose on Vimeo.

I can't decide if these shoes are rad or lame. Leaning towards rad...just for the ergonomic properties.

That said, I won't be buying a pair...but at $85 bucks for the ones he has on...not a bad price point for these one of a kind shoes. FYI...the all-black ones are pretty badass looking.

Plus, speaking as a former shoe salesman, Vibram is the shit when it comes to soles...amazing products. I always resole my shoes w/ Vibram...when they wear out.

(500) Days of Summer -- Trailer

Cool Teaser. Very cool song. Although, I don't think the movie itself can live up to the hype that this trailer has created. Check it out:

Star Wars: Retold (by someone who hasn't seen it)

Another hilarious video...even if you're not a Star Wars fan...you'll like it. Read the decription below the video player for the backstory:

Star Wars: Retold (by someone who hasn't seen it) from Joe Nicolosi on Vimeo.

My friend Amanda had never seen a whole Star Wars film. When I asked her if she wanted to watch the original trilogy she said that she would, but that she already knew what happens. So I took out my voice recorder and asked her to start from the top.

I then created some very basic animation in Final Cut to go along with her narration.

Dark Side of The Rainbow

So, I'm slaving away at the office today....running around, barking orders, kissing hands, shaking babies...you know, a typical Friday.

Then, a magazine in the newsroom caught my eye. Mainly, because Bill Murray was on the cover -- in a Fat Jumpsuit Elvis costume, no less. So, I'm flipping through the book, looking for the cover article, when I happen upon another blurb talking about the "Dark Side of the Rainbow" phenomenom. You know about this, right? The syncronicity between The Wizard of Oz and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. If you're interested, you can find articles critiquing the experiment at StraightDope, the first mainstream reporter experiment, and an entire site dedicated to the process.

How cool is the InterWeb?

If you don't know of what I speak, see link above. We can still be friends...just read the Wiki first. I'll wait.

If you do know what's up, you're a cool person. I'm not sure why I'm hanging on the other half. Seriously...how do you not know about this? Why aren't you filling your head with useless info like me?

Moving on...

Welcome back. I did some extensive research (i.e typed in youtube.com) and found exactly what i suspected -- The first part of the film available right at your fingertips (here is a playlist I've made for your conveinience).

If you want to the original movie soundtrack mashed in with the album track...google video has you covered.

Did I mention how much I love YouTube...and the InterWeb?

So, fire up a fattie, sit back and relax. Heaven awaits over the rainbow.
